I've found a nice handful of books that meet the criteria for the challenge and also follow the self-imposed rules of my blog. I'm going to try to meet the minimum of 12* novels, but this list has a few more than that.
Some possibilities include:
The Dark Days of Hamburger Halpin
Sons of Liberty
How to Grow up and Rule the World
Crossing
Infinity: Chronicles of Nick
Shooting Kabul
The Rise of Renegade X
8th Grade Superzero
The Clockwork Three
Happyface
Rot & Ruin
The Absolute Value of -1
Brains: A Zombie Memoir
Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer
I've checked most of these, but if someone knows something different in terms of the debut status (or has a suggestion), please let me know! Now back to reading...

* Firespell is also a debut novel this year. Though it doesn't fit the parameters of my blog, I still would like to count it toward my total. My Shelfari review is here. So, whoohoo! 1 down 11 to go!
Thanks for including Split! I love your reading list. The Absolute Value of -1, The Dark Days of Hamburger Halpin, Shooting Kabul.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I've seen Split on the shelf and am definitely intrigued. I'm glad I have a reason to put it higher on the TBR pile!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Swati, this is a great list! I didn't know Sons of Liberty is a debut, I need to add it to my list. Hopefully I will eventually get around to reading Shooting Kabul too.
ReplyDeleteCrossing was sooo good. And 8th Grade Superzero is one of my favorite books of the year. Read it asap :)
Good luck on the challenge. I also recommend Secret Saturdays by Torrey Maldonado I liked it. It's a MG read about two Puerto Rican guys who don't want to seem softso they can be verbally abusive as well as physically.
Thanks for the suggestion!
